I saw James Low sing tonight; he’s a very good songwriter from Portland. This was the second of two evenings over the past couple of weeks in which the tape (or what passes for it these digital days) was running. The live CD should be available in by the end of July.
As I watch James perform, and he is a regular about town, I wonder about the music business. I wonder about the difference between free shows at Mississippi Studios and playing to full houses of $50/seat fans. And this doesn’t take long to get to the corporate world. What’s the difference between a clerk (what’s a clerk these days, anyway? what was a clerk?) and a CEO? People are, after all, people.
Anyway, look for James. He’s going on tour this summer and will be about town, too. Always a good show.
